Wearing clown nosethe independent MEP of Cyprus stated: “This is the most important announcement of my life. It has been over a year since I became an MEP and now we have seen it in action. That an independent politician cannot change things by himself. I have come to the conclusion, folks, that in order to achieve the change we want we must acquire power in Parliament and that is why I am announcing that we are starting a new process to make a political party. And this party, guys, I imagine is something completely different from the others».

His purpose, he continued, “it will be to give another cop of the system this time na try to change it from within. The way the Republic works today, decisions are made by some people who vote once every five years. And I believe that the time has finally come for this model to end and be replaced by a new kind of Democracy:

- More democratic
In this every citizen can participates in discussions, on decisions and even at the votes themselves. So, based on these ideas the name of the party could not be other than “Direct Democracy”.
The central idea, he pointed out, “it is the decisions that we all take together and through an app we can all participate in the processes of the party. For example, the 56 parliamentary candidates who are to be on the ballot for the May 2026 Elections will be chosen by you, through a democratic vote in our app. And of course among those who will be able to claim such a way, a place on our ballot, will be anyone. And of course, maybe you who are watching this video right now.”
However, he said, and after the election “if we succeed and get some MPs, we could use such an app to decide together what we will vote on important issues of the Parliament. This thing we’re going to do has never happened before! And to tell you the truth, I still don’t have a clear picture of how we will set it up and how the mechanism will work. And of course kids like all new things, it has a lot of chances to fail. But the only thing that is certain is that it is something very different from what we are used to until now. And if nothing else guys, it’s sure to shake things up. And that’s why it’s worth trying. And who knows, through this idea we may also help to create a new kind of Democracy and in a way become the beginning of a more democratic, more vibrant and more just future. Maybe not only in Cyprus but also in the rest of the world, if it succeeds.”
