Olena Zelenska, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyin statements to the Italian public radio Rai, referred to the massacre of Bouka and the children, victims of the Russian invasion.

“The images of Bouka’s massacre leave me speechless. It was a nice area, where young couples with children lived. “Russia is talking – cynically – about a staged show: how much we would like it to be true”, stressed the first lady of Ukraine.

“The rights of Ukrainian children are being violated by an invader who bombing schools, hospitals and apartment buildings. “250 children have already lost their lives, and more than half of the minors in my country have become refugees.”

Olena Zelenska thanked Italy, which hosts more than 150 children from Ukraine, as well as the Vatican, for his substantial help. “I invite those who can accommodate our children. “In the meantime, we are trying to organize summer accommodation for children and we are waiting for useful suggestions,” concluded the wife of the Ukrainian president.

Efforts to evacuate civilians through humanitarian corridors continue

Ukraine has announced that it intends to open today up to 10 humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians, but Mariupol residents who want to leave the besieged port city in the south of the country will have to use private vehicles.

The 10 planned safe corridors, announced by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Verestsuk, are all located in southern and eastern Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials say that the Russian forces are regrouping for a new attack and that Moscow plans to occupy as much territory as possible in the eastern part of Ukraine known as Donbass, which borders Russia.

Verestsuk also said 4,676 civilians were evacuated from the country’s cities on Thursday.
