Islamic State has claimed responsibility for two bomb blasts earlier in the day in the Afghan capital, Kabul, where members of the Hazara Shiite minority live.

At least two people were killed and ten were injured when a car bomb exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, killing at least two people and wounding three others, according to a Taliban official. Among the injured are three women.

This is the second time in less than a week that the area has been the target of such an attack: on November 13, a journalist was killed and four other people were injured in a similar explosion. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pictures posted on social media show a car damaged by flames as well as debris strewn on the road.

In a post on his Telegram account, the Islamic State of Khorasan, a branch of the jihadist organization in Afghanistan, claimed to have carried out “two separate explosions” that “left more than 20 dead and wounded in the ranks of heretics”, in a report to Shiites.
