“80% of Luhansk territory is under Russian control,” a Ukrainian official said.

80% of Luhansk territory is under Russian control, told CNN the head of the Regional Military Administration of the region Serhi Haidai. If Ukraine does not resist, he warned, “Russia is definitely not going to stop here and move on.”

Haidai agreed with the Russian statements that the second phase of the war has begun, but clarified that it is not yet a “complete and complete invasion”.

“Certainly (the Russians) are spreading a lot,” he said. “We have formed our defense in many cities. They are trying to encircle our troops, a lot of bad work is being done there…
but have had no success so far. “We are doing well to destroy their equipment.”

Haidai added: “We have a very serious situation here. The whole territory of Luhansk is being bombed. There is no safe city… We understand that the Russian government will go ahead and destroy everything in its path. “So what we are doing is trying to evacuate everyone as much as possible.”

In this context, the Ukrainian official again appealed to the remaining civilians to leave Luhansk as the fighting intensifies. He said that of the 350,000 people who lived in the Ukrainian territory of Luhansk before the war, about 70,000 remain today.

“Most people have left by their own means of transport or by using our buses or volunteers. We have no idea when the humanitarian corridors will be created, but we evacuate daily. “The point is that Russia is always violating the agreements,” he said.

Haidai went on to say that the bombings were carried out “non-stop” in the area, having destroyed the electricity network and all water supplies. For the remaining 70,000 people, most of them live in warehouses, cellars and shelters.

The military governor called on the West to provide more military equipment to help defend Ukraine.

Asked how he saw the end of the war, Haidai told CNN that it was possible to end the hostilities through a political agreement, but added that he felt it was difficult to trust the Russians.

“They are constantly lying,” he said. “Everyone knows that. Nobody believes them. Everyone knows that an agreement with Russia is not worth the paper on which it is printed. Russia is the enemy of the whole world today, not just Ukraine. Their ambitions spread far beyond Ukraine “ warned the Ukrainian official.
