For wounding the head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, general Valery Gerasimov Ukrainian sources have been talking for the last few hours. He was reportedly wounded after a Ukrainian attack in Izium (Eastern Ukraine), near the Russian headquarters.
According to the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerastsenko and Ukrainian media, Gerasimov was injured in the leg, but the injury is not serious.
According to the same sources, the Russian general had been sent to Ukraine to personally oversee the operation in Donbas.
It is noted that on the Ukrainian front it seems that several high-ranking Russian officers have lost their lives.
So far it does not exist official information from the Russian side.
