THE Vladimir Putin has been personally involved in the Ukraine war to such an extent that it makes operational and tactical decisions “at the level of colonel or brigadier general”, according to Western military sources, citing the Guardian.
They added that the Russian president is even involved in determining the movements of forces in Donbas, where last week the invaders suffered a bloody defeatas they tried many times to cross a river of strategic importance.
Sources, however, said Putin was still working closely with the general Valery Gerasimov, the commander of the Russian armed forces, contrary to Kiev’s claims that the general has been beheaded.
“We believe that Putin and Gerasimov are involved in regular decision-making at a level we would normally expect from a colonel or a brigadier general,” a military source said, referring to the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.
