At least five people were killed and more than 40 were injured when a red SUV crashed into a traditional Christmas parade in Wokesson, Wisconsin, the Wokessa Police Department said. A new shocking video with the perpetrator posing with the vehicle in the crowds has come to light.
“Right now, we can confirm that 5 people are dead and more than 40 were injured. However, these numbers may change as we collect additional information. Many people have been transported to local hospitals on their own. “The Police Department has the person under investigation in custody,” the tweet reads.
A red SUV crashed yesterday Sunday on unsuspecting people, among them little schoolgirls with pom-poms.
In a video posted on social networking sites, the SUV is depicted moving fast towards the ears of people parading and hitting more than ten. Spectators run to offer help. In another video, a police officer is pictured shooting at the car before it falls on bars set up for the parade.
A woman told local television station Fox6 that the SUV mainly hit schoolgirls aged 9 to 15, members of a dance group that took part in the parade. It was reported that there was silence at first, then screams were heard and people started running to the spot to help, Fox6 reported.
It is not yet clear whether this is a terrorist act.
