The IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) released this Thursday (2) the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) result for the first quarter of 2022. The Brazilian economy grew 1% in relation to the previous three months, driven by the services — which benefited from the end of restrictions imposed to combat the pandemic.
This is the third consecutive quarter of growth, even in a scenario of high inflation and successive increases in interest rates. But analysts point out that it is precisely these two factors that can contribute to slowing the economy in the coming months.
In this Friday’s episode (3), Café da Manhã talks with the economics editor of SheetAna Estela de Sousa Pinto, on the most recent GDP results, the less optimistic projections for the future and the electoral impacts of the data.
