Panel SA: Small and medium businesses face bottlenecks on Black Friday, says survey

by

More than half of Brazilian small and medium-sized companies expect to increase sales during this year’s Black Friday, according to a survey by Boa Vista.

The number rose compared to 2020, when only 39% of businesses were optimistic about the date, however, reports point to difficulties with working capital and limited investments.

About 60% of entrepreneurs must offer the stock of previous years for sale, without replacement, while 76% say they will not hire temporary employees.

The survey found that 64% of small and medium businesses are betting on online businesses. In 2019, it was 46%.

According to the survey, carried out in October with 500 business, industry and service businessmen, around 60% are able to grant credit to customers, which helps boost sales.

Other interviewees claim that, in order to leverage their business, they need to expand their presence in the market, reduce defaults and gain more customers.
