One minute a day, the price of unleaded in the country was rising on average, closing at 2,356 euros per liter per week.
Somehow Greece continues to have it 3rd most expensive price in the Eurozone behind only Finland and Denmark. The European average remained at 2.01 euros / liter, hence the difference with greek price expanded to almost 36 minutes.
Of course in the Dodecanese and Cyclades the average price has long ago exceeded 2.5 euros / liter, while in Grevena, Evritania, Heraklion, Corfu, Kefalonia, Lassithi, Lefkada, Xanthi and Fokida will be miracle if a gas station is found with a sale price below 2.4 euros.
The average price of diesel also increased by seven minutes, to 1,933 euros / liter. Despite the 15-minute horizontal discount, Greece continues to have the 9th most expensive price with a Community average of 1.91 euros.
If the government decided to withdraw the subsidy tomorrow, then Greece would jump into the top 4 with the most expensive diesel prices behind only the Scandinavian countries, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
The fuel pass platform closes
The fuel pass platform closes tomorrow, but the subsidy will continue and even expand. The income criterion of 30,000 euros for gross family income is expected to rise significantly, while the amount of the subsidy will be increased, which reached 55 euros in the first phase – with special care for the island areas.
An increase is also expected in the increase of the discount on the pump for the diesel fuel which is currently at 15 minutes. Government announcements are expected in the last ten days of the month.
