B3 prepares international expansion to Asia with the opening of a representative office in Singapore. It will be the third point of action for the Brazilian Stock Exchange abroad, after Chicago and London.
The executive who will head the office is Sérgio Gullo, director of international business development, who led the B3 operation in London for about ten years, from where he covered Europe and Asia.
Now, the idea is to strengthen closer ties with Asian stock exchanges and map the potential of new clients interested in investing in Brazilian assets. The location was chosen to facilitate access to markets such as Australia and India as well.
According to data from B3, today, foreigners represent 48% of the volume of the Brazilian stock market and 47% in the derivatives market. And spot shares are among the most traded products by Asians on B3.
