Bolsonaro promotes neglect, abandonment and contempt, say public security agents

Entities representing the delegates, experts and federal agents published a joint note this Tuesday (5) in repudiation of speeches by Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

For them, the president promotes “negligence”, “abandonment” and “disdain” to members of the security forces for signaling and not carrying out the restructuring of careers, which would ensure salary gains to the segment that makes up Bolsonaro’s support base.

Marcus Firme, president of Fenapef (National Federation of Federal Police), criticized the Chief Executive for not sending a proposal to the National Congress to fulfill the promise.

Due to restrictions imposed by electoral legislation, the deadline for any initiative in this regard expired this Monday (4).

“He [Bolsonaro] spoke in interviews, meetings that the restructuring would take place and did not comply. We feel the devaluation and attack on the rights of professionals,” she said.

The entities say that Bolsonaro uses fragile arguments that “there is nowhere to get the money”. However, it ignores the recourse provided for in the Annual Budget Law of 2022.

The federal government blocked the execution of BRL 8.7 billion of the 2022 Budget in order not to breach the spending ceiling, which prevents federal spending from growing above inflation.

The measure includes the amount of R$ 1.7 billion originally intended for the readjustment of civil servants – reinforcing the difficulty of granting increases to civil servants in the face of fiscal limitations.

“With another hard blow to the police confirmed, the fragile electoral discourse of defense of public security no longer finds space or echo in Brazilian society, which starts to see a representative who has used illusory expedients, but has never effectively carried out any act whatsoever. in defense of those who truly promote public security in this country: the civil police of the Union”, he said.

According to the institutions, they will continue to fight for the valorization of professionals. They also say that the president hides the fact that the institutional results delivered by the Union’s police forces are the result of the detachment and dedication of professionals.

The National Association of Federal Police Delegates, the Association of Federal Criminal Experts, the National Federation of Federal Police Delegates and the National Federation of Federal Police have signed the note.

The National Federation of Federal Criminal Police Officers, the National Federation of Federal Highway Police Officers and the National Union of Federal Police Special Plan Servants also endorsed the statement.
