And the deadline for the announcement of the electricity tariffs that will come into force in August is officially extended, as reported earlier by APE – MEP.
The deadline that ended the day after tomorrow, Sunday, is extended for July 25 with a legislative regulation that will be immediately submitted to the Parliament.
The extension was announced by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Kostas Skrekas with a letter to suppliers stating:
“As you know, in accordance with the provisions of Article 138 of Law 4951/2022 (Government Gazette A’ 129/04.07.2022), regarding the Establishment of extraordinary transitional arrangements in the supply of electricity to mitigate the economic consequences of the energy crisis and in particular of par. 2, electricity suppliers announce on a monthly basis and in a prominent place on their website, by the end of the second month (M-2) before the month of application (M), the fixed charges and the electricity supply charges for the power and energy component applied to the supply tariffs of par. 1 of the above article.
According to the provisions of par. 4 para. (b) of the same article for the first application period, the announcement of the electricity supply charges is carried out until July 10, 2022, a date which will pass the day after tomorrow and does not give the suppliers the opportunity to announce the commission charges of the new invoices in a timely manner.
In light of the above and in order to facilitate the process, it is considered necessary to postpone the date of announcement of the relevant commission charges, especially for the first application period until July 25, 2022. For this purpose, a relevant legislative initiative has already been launched, which will be implemented soon ».
