Ibevar (Brazilian Institute of Retail and Consumer Market Executives) projects a 2.4% increase in purchase intent in the third quarter compared to the same period last year.

The result would represent an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous three months.

According to the study’s projections, the category of clothing, fabrics and footwear should present the best scenario, with an increase of 5.2%. At the other end, a drop of almost 9% in the purchase intention for the stationery, books, magazines and newspapers sector is expected in the third quarter compared to the immediately previous period.
