There will be a limit on the profit margin, and if any business is found to be selling at higher prices than the ceiling, it will be fined and unable to receive the subsidy.
The services of the Ministry of Development and Investments are trying to prevent any possibility of a “cap” on the prices of air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers by companies that will seek to take advantage of the subsidy from the “RECYCLE-CHANGE APPLIANCE” program.
They are already monitoring the prices, while according to information from ERT, the possibility of joining the provision on profiteering and the prices of electrical appliances of the replacement program is being considered. That is, as it applies to petrol stations and supermarkets.
The ministry is monitoring the market in detail and it is not excluded, within the next ten days, to bring to vote a provision that will concern electrical goods stores. There will be a limit on the profit margin which should not exceed the margin that businesses had before the platform was opened and in case any business is found to be selling at higher prices than the ceiling, it will be fined and will not be able to receive the subsidy.
