Payments will be made in two installments, as some applications require additional verification.

The refund starts at 18 euros and can go up to 600 for consumers and comes to provide relief for the period December 2021 – May 2022, where they saw “inflated” electricity bills

It is noted that the final beneficiaries will be notified by sms or e-mail regarding the approval of their application in order to know the money they will receive, with the applications approaching 3 million.

How to calculate the amount you will receive

To calculate the amount of aid per beneficiary, initially the amount of aid is calculated for each domestic electricity bill issued in the period between December 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022.

The amount of the aid per electricity bill is calculated as 60% of the positive balance obtained after deducting from the amount of the bill adjustment clause the discount amounts:

a) granted by the special account named “Energy Transition Fund” of article sixty-one of Law 4839/2021 and

b) which has already been granted by the electricity suppliers on the energy consumption of the account.

In the event that the bill does not concern a variable electricity supply tariff that is adjusted based on the wholesale electricity purchase price, the applicant is not entitled to receive aid. Also, in the event that the bill does not concern a provision for household use, the applicant is not entitled to receive aid.
