Informal workers and unemployed in vulnerable situations in the State of São Paulo can apply for the Bolsa Empreendedor program, from Bolsa do Povo, to receive a grant of R$ 1,000, divided into two installments of R$ 500.
The beneficiary will also have a qualification and formalization course as MEI (Individual Microentrepreneur). Applications are due until October, for a total of 130,000 places.
The program is open to all unemployed or informal people, but priority is given to low-income people, women, young people (from 18 to 35 years old), black, mixed race, indigenous people or people with disabilities. To participate, you must be literate, over 18 years old, unemployed or MEI and live in the state of São Paulo.
You also need to be registered with CadÚnico, which is the gateway to the federal government’s Auxílio Brasil program.
Bolsa do Povo brings together 19 income transfer actions for residents of the state. Enrollment for all must be done through the program website: www.bolsadopovo.sp.gov.br/. A family can have more than one beneficiary, as long as they all meet the requirements of each aid.
The state initiative had more than 645,000 beneficiaries in the second half of last year, when it was created, according to Laura Machado, Secretary of Social Development for the State of São Paulo. By the end of this year, the state government plans to reach 700,000 beneficiaries.
Families with school-aged members
Students enrolled in high school in the state network of São Paulo can be part of the Novotec Expresso program to receive an aid grant of R$ 600, paid in four monthly installments of R$ 150, throughout the duration of the course.
There are 28 course options, with a duration of 120 hours in approximately four months. Applications will be accepted until August 15 through the Novotec website (novotec.sp.gov.br).
Unemployed students who are 18 years of age or older in the areas of health and biological sciences can apply for Acolhe Saúde. You will need to dedicate 20 hours a week at one of the 176 health facilities in the state to receive a benefit according to your graduation:
- Graduation (bachelor’s, licentiate): BRL 750 per month
- Technological degree (technologist): BRL 650 per month
- Technician: BRL 500 per month
Families with a monthly income of up to three minimum wages (R$ 3,636) who lost at least one member of the family nucleus due to Covid-19 from the beginning of the pandemic until June 21, 2021 can apply for SP Acolhe. The benefit has a total amount of BRL 1,800, paid in six monthly installments of BRL 300.
