The average amount spent by people from São Paulo on meals away from home rose 19% in the last three years, according to a survey by the meal and food benefits brand Ticket.
Eating out cost around R$36 on average in the city of São Paulo in 2019, but rose to R$43 in 2022.
The south zone had the biggest increase in the period, with an increase of 35%, to R$ 50.40.
The west zone presented the lowest values, with meal prices growing 4% in the period, to R$ 38.63.
