To pay the R$ 400, the government depends on the approval of the PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) of the Precatório, which passed a committee in the Senate this Tuesday (30).
According to the government, as soon as the R$ 400 starts to be paid, whoever received a lower amount will be able to withdraw the differences, in an accumulated form. New beneficiaries will not have this advantage.
The Ministry of Citizenship said it expects to reach around 17 million families next month, “which corresponds to the entire public already qualified and other families that meet the program’s eligibility criteria, clearing the waiting list.”
Families in extreme poverty (with monthly per capita family income of up to R$ 100) and those in poverty (with monthly per capita family income between R$ 100.01 and R$ 200) are entitled to Brazil Aid. who have pregnant women or members under 21 years of age. It is necessary to be registered in the Cadastro Único.
Last Thursday (25th), the Chamber of Deputies approved the expansion of the poverty ranges to R$210 and extreme poverty to R$105, but the new levels depend on a vote in the Senate.
When contacted, the Ministry of Citizenship informed that it still considers the previous values, with poverty being characterized by the monthly family income per person in the amount between R$ 100.01 and R$ 200.00.
