Fiat released this Wednesday (3) the first image of the Fastback, its next compact SUV.
The new model of the Italian brand will hit stores at the end of the year. Its platform is the same as the Pulse and there are several components shared with the Cronos sedan. The design, however, is unique.
The bodywork follows the “SUV coupe” style, in which the roof has a slight drop at the rear. This design came into fashion with high luxury models like the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupé, and now it gains space among compacts.
The front grille is honeycomb type and finished in gloss black. The headlights use LEDs and the taillights are narrow and elongated, a style that goes well with the low roof at the rear.
The main competitor of the Fiat Fastback will be the Volkswagen Nivus, which costs from R$ 119,550.
The Fastback is expected to have a trunk with a capacity of over 400 liters – the Volks model offers 415 liters for luggage accommodation.
Fiat will still disclose which engines will be used in its new SUV, but one of them will be the 1.0 turbo flex with three cylinders and 130 hp of power already used in the Pulse.
