Unused extraordinary withdrawal returns to the FGTS account from Saturday

by

The amounts of the extraordinary withdrawal that were not handled by the workers begin to return to the FGTS (Service Time Guarantee Fund) account this Saturday (6).

According to Caixa, approximately R$ 9.2 billion will be returned to the accounts of the Guarantee Fund, duly corrected.

If the worker made any withdrawals from the extraordinary withdrawal, in any amount, the remaining balance remains in the Caixa Tem account. The money will also not be returned to the FGTS account in cases where the worker requested the extraordinary withdrawal in the FGTS App, even if the withdrawal was not made later.

Withdrawal can be requested even after the money is returned

If, after returning the amount to the FGTS account, the worker wishes to use the extraordinary withdrawal, he can request it through the FGTS App until December 15, 2022. According to Caixa Econômica Federal, after the request, the credit will be made on Caixa Tem’s digital account within 15 days.

Caixa deposited up to BRL 1,000 in the Caixa Tem account of approximately 43.7 million workers in 2022, in accordance with provisional measure 1,105, of March 17, 2022. In all, around BRL 30.1 billion was paid.

The amounts credited automatically are available for movement by the worker for a period of 90 days, according to the Caixa payment schedule, and, if not withdrawn, return to the FGTS accounts with monetary correction.
