Fiesp’s series of meetings with presidential candidates at the entity’s headquarters in São Paulo had the largest audience this Tuesday (9), when former president Lula (PT) was received. According to Fiesp, it was necessary to add chairs at the back of the hall to accommodate about 300 people who attended.
The previous rounds, with Ciro Gomes (PDT), Simone Tebet (MDB) and Felipe D’Ávila (Novo), had smaller audiences.
One of Lula’s nods that caught the attention of those present was the request for dialogue with the agro.
“We want to debate. We just want the chance to talk to agribusiness. Even those who are the most angry, just need to check to see if they are not armed. The rest we will talk to discuss Brazil,” he said.
In addition to talking about reforms and fiscal responsibility among the gestures to please the business community, the PT also took the opportunity to show vitality.
While speaking, Lula dropped a pen that was on the table on the floor. When she bent down to take it, Geraldo Alckmin, her deputy, and Josué Gomes, the president of Fiesp, tried to help him, but the PT objected.
“Looks like I can’t even pick up a pen. If I can’t pick up a pen, I can’t be president. I need to show vigor here for you guys,” he said.
