by

President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) participated in a motorcycle ride in Vitória da Conquista, in the interior of Bahia, this Saturday (26) and, in an act with supporters, he again called for events on September 7.

The Chief Executive said that, on the date, he will participate in an event in Brasília in the morning and in Copacabana, in Rio de Janeiro, in the afternoon.

“On the 7th at 9 am I’ll be in Brasília and at 3 pm I’ll be in Copacabana, in Rio de Janeiro. Here you too come to the right place. On that day we can show Brazil and the world that we are united for democracy and freedom.”

The current president also stated that he will not admit “any action against our democracy or against our freedom”. “We are for peace, we are for good, but we are also warriors and we will do everything with those who want to steal our democracy.”

“Democracy is built on voting, on transparent voting, on reliable voting”, continued the president.

Bolsonaro was accompanied by former defense minister Braga Netto, who will be his deputy on the ticket, and former minister João Roma, candidate for governor of Bahia who has the president’s support.

Also in this Saturday’s speech, the president spoke about hunger, the day after saying in interviews that there is no “real” hunger in Brazil.

“The world is increasingly looking at us. The world, without Brazil, goes hungry,” he told supporters without mentioning that 33 million people in the country are in this situation, according to the Penssan Network (Brazilian Network for Research on Sovereignty and Security). Food and Nutrition).

In an interview on Friday (26), Bolsonaro said that “real hunger does not exist, as it is said”. “What is extreme poverty? You earn US$ 1.9 a day, that’s R$ 10. Auxílio Brasil is R$ 20 a day. Anyone who happens to be on the hunger map can register and will receive”, he said.

In the act with supporters, Bolsonaro also attacked former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), his main opponent in the electoral race, saying that he is the “Globo candidate” — without mentioning the PT’s name.

“We know who this guy is a candidate for, he is a Globo candidate. We will defeat everything and everyone for the good of the vast majority of our people who believe in God, family and freedom”, he said.

The chief executive also said he hears from supporters not to give up, even in the face of skepticism about the polls.

“What I hear most when I’m among you are three little phrases: don’t give up, we’re praying for you and God bless.”

Candidate for re-election, Bolsonaro also said that his government looks “at the most humble and the poorest”.
