Stock market: Closing down 2.85% – Turnover at 61.50 million euros

The General Price Index closed at 868.25 points. The total market capitalization today fell by 1.62 billion euros.

Stock prices came under strong pressure in today’s session, amid a negative climate in international markets, in the wake of his speech head of the Fedwhereby interest rates will be kept at higher levels for a longer period of time in order to reduce inflation.

Banking stocks were at the center of liquidations, with the market falling below the 870 level, while the total market capitalization today fell by 1.62 billion euros.

The General Price Index closed at 868.25 points, marking losses 2.85%.

Intra-sessionally it recorded a lower price at 864.41 units (-3.28%).

The value of transactions amounted to 61.50 million euroswhile 30,562,511 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 3.02%, while the mid-cap index fell 2.51%.

All the high capitalization shares moved down and the biggest drop was recorded by the shares of Piraeus (-6.51%), Viohalco (-5.87%), ADMIE (-5.74%), Ethniki (-5 .68%), PPC (-5.41%), Aegean Airlines (-5.19%) and Alpha Bank (-3.73%).

All the individual indices moved down and the biggest losses were recorded by the indices of Health (-4.48%), Financial Services (-4.13%) and Banks (-4.07%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 12,467,483 and 5,981,891 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by Alpha Bank with 11.676 million euros and Eurobank with 5.575 million euros.

21 stocks moved up, 102 fell and 8 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Chaidemenos +6.93% and KREKA +6.84%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Intertek -10.71% and Mylos Kepenou -9.09%.
