View from the tallest building in São Paulo costs R$ 12 million; see photos

by

At 172 meters high, only an ambulance siren is heard. On the horizon, the blue sky shares space with the dense swath of pollution. We are at the top of Platina 220, in the area designed to be the helipad of the tallest building in São Paulo.

Delivered this Monday (5th) with 36 m² apartments, hotel rooms and offices in Tatuapé (east zone), Platina 220 was created to allocate the 500 m² commercial slabs installed on the last 20 floors of the building.

Acquiring one of these corporate spaces with a privileged 360º view of the capital of São Paulo costs up to R$ 11.8 million, according to estimates by the developer. The top floor has already been purchased to become an office.

Located at Rua Bom Sucesso, 220, the project benefited from the old master plan, from 2014, for densification outside the central region and is 2 meters higher than Mirante do Vale. But compared to the tallest building in the world, the Platina 220 is short. The Burj Khalifa in Dubai is 828 meters tall and has 168 habitable floors.

The Arab building is also for commercial and residential use, with three-bedroom apartments costing more than R$7 million.

In its Brazilian rival, a studio is being sold for around R$ 700 thousand. The view from the windows of the apartments, installed from the 4th to the 11th floor of Platina 220, differs from that of the commercial slabs. In the apartment visited by the report, the view was from the side of Shopping Metrô Tatuapé.

From the hotel’s rooms, located from the 1st to the 10th floor and with sales values between R$ 435 thousand to R$ 1.12 million, guests can observe the movement of the neighborhood known as the capital of the east side.

All will share the same common area, which includes a swimming pool, gym, bar and restaurant.

The view from the top floor must be restricted to events. Designed to receive helicopters, the space still depends on bureaucracy to function.

Last Thursday (1st), the venue received a telescope for selected guests to look at the stars more closely. There was also a fireworks display, celebrating the completion of the project.

Platinum Axis

The single-tower building designed by the architectural firm Königsberger Vannucchi is part of a development that focuses on the nearly 5 million residents of the east side.

The first phase of the project, called Eixo Platina, has five other projects along three subway stations: Carrão, Tatuapé and Belém. All will have an active facade, that is, intended for commerce with entrance and facing the street.

Porte Engenharia, the construction company responsible for the axis, estimates that the projects total 390,000 m² between commercial slabs, residential areas and cultural spaces.
