Panel SA: Hotel occupancy in São Paulo remains below pre-pandemic

by

In August, hotel occupancy in São Paulo repeated the pace of recovery recorded in previous months, with a 55% increase over the same period in 2021, according to Abih-SP (an association that represents the hotel industry in the state). In the monthly variation, the rate rose 3.45%.

When the comparison is made with the pre-pandemic scenario, in August 2019, the level is still 7% lower.

According to Abih-SP, the occupancy rate, which stood at 63%, has been driven by corporate events, while leisure hotels, mainly on the coast of São Paulo, showed a retraction compared to July, affected by the association of low season and winter. .

The average daily rate is also on the rise. It ended August at R$342.98, 45% more expensive than in 2021.
