On the other hand, the US is putting pressure on the OPEC+ countries not to proceed with a possible reduction of daily oil production, as a source informed of the matter told Reuters.
Washington is urging OPEC+ countries to hold production steady, stressing that key economic data does not support a production cut, according to the same source.
The OPEC+ group includes Saudi Arabia and Russia, and talks are focused on cutting a 1-million-barrel-a-day output glut, sources told Reuters this week.
These reductions could create conditions for recovery in oil prices.
