SA Panel: Deputies expect definition of nursing floor in the Chamber next week

by

The bill that releases resources to states and municipalities for the payment of the national nursing floor should enter the House voting agenda next week. This Tuesday (4), the Senate approved a text that unlocks the budget within the R$ 34 billion intended to combat Covid.

The proposal only covers public hospitals and, according to the sector, does not solve the bottlenecks created by the law, which was sanctioned by Bolsonaro in August and suspended by the STF (Supreme Federal Court) last month.

Private, philanthropic and Santa Casa hospitals, the most affected by the increase in the salary floor of professionals, continue without any indication of funding.

The hole generated with the new floor of R$ 4,750 exceeds R$ 17 billion, according to the sector’s calculations.

There is expectation in the Chamber that the rapporteurship of the project will be with the government base. As Bolsonaro seeks support to turn the election against Lula, the reading is that the government will make an effort to accelerate the vote.

Deputy Carmen Zanotto (Citizenship-SC), who is a nurse, says that it is essential to define aid to private and philanthropic hospitals, especially those that serve SUS patients, as is the case with dialysis clinics. She says that the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), will define a rapporteur after a meeting with the leaders of the benches, which should happen on Monday (10).
