Children’s Day leaves malls crowded across the country

by

Those who decided to take advantage of the October 12 holiday, which celebrates Nossa Senhora Aparecida and Children’s Day, to go to the mall found thousands of people with the same idea. Although the associations of malls still do not have a balance of the movement this Wednesday (12), publications on social networks recorded the crowding.

Among consumers, parents who left the purchase of gifts for the little ones to the last minute. There are even those who raised doubts about the economic crisis in the country.

Almost 80% of the malls surveyed by Abrasce (Brazilian Association of Shopping Centers) planned events to attract children, including children’s recreation, the installation of toys and theatrical performances. The spaces also have meetings for the exchange of World Cup figurines.

The association expects that this 12th will result in a 15% increase in movement compared to 2021, and 11%, compared to 2019, in the pre-pandemic period.

Testimonials on Twitter indicate a resumption of consumers to malls.

Entrepreneurs are confident of an increase in net income. Abrasce estimates growth of 16% in sales, but expects each consumer to spend, on average, R$204 on gifts and other products. Ten reais less than last year’s date.

As for Alshop (Brazilian Association of Shopkeepers), the average ticket should be R$ 240. An increase of R$ 42 compared to last year, according to the entity.
