The average price of heating oil according to the observatory of the Ministry of Development was on Tuesday (19/10) nationwide at 1.414 euros per liter and in Attica 1.384 euros.

According to fuel market sources, demand for heating oil is active and “most phone calls that consumers make to inquire about price result in an order for even a small quantity. Probably many are rushing to take advantage of the offers that have been announced and have an expiry date to anticipate possible price increases in the next period”, they add.

It is recalled that the government proceeded to subsidize the price by reducing the excise duty by 25 cents per liter along with VAT. In addition, the following promotional programs have been announced so far by the marketing companies:

  • The ELPE refineries proceeded with a discount to the trading companies, amounting to 7.5 cents per liter including VAT.
  • EKO of the same group (Hellenic Energy) is offering an additional 5% discount until November 21.
  • AVIN offers a 5% profit for purchases with Piraeus Bank credit cards for the entire heating season until April, while the possibility of up to 12 interest-free installments is given through winbank.

At the same time, members of the AVIN Earn reward program have 0.5 points per liter of heating oil, which earns gift vouchers to be redeemed at AVIN service stations.

  • Shell enables consumers who place orders through 18330, allSmart.gr and selected Shell gas stations to receive a discount of 10 Euros per 1,000 liters (1 minute per liter) for purchases over 1,000 liters until December 31, 2022. At the same time, the company is offering double Smart Points (1 point per liter instead of 0.5 points per liter) for all heating oil purchases until April 30, 2023.

In addition, consumers can make purchases with all credit cards and receive up to 12 interest-free installments.

  • Elin provides 12 interest-free credit card installments for orders from headquarters and for deliveries of at least 400 liters within Attica.
