Patrick was arrested at home, in a luxury condominium in the west of Rio de Janeiro. The police served another five arrest warrants.

Also according to the investigation, the ostentation displayed by Patrick on the internet was intended to convey the image of a successful investor and manage to attract the attention of new investors.

In the photos shared, he showed a comfortable routine, always next to luxury sports cars and in coveted tourist locations, such as Dubai, Cancún and some European countries.

According to the investigation, the pyramid scheme led by Abrahão began in 2019 and was still in operation. The group used social networks as the main platform to attract new investors.

The entrepreneur’s profile on Instagram alone has more than 3 million followers. On the platform, he shares everything from investment tips to motivational messages.

In a video published on his YouTube channel, which has more than 17 thousand subscribers, Abrahão says that he started in the investment market at age 12 with R$ 600. After suffering some frustrations, he says he reached the first R$ 1 million at 21 years.

PF fulfilled 41 search and seizure warrants

The Federal Court of Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sul, also issued 41 search and seizure warrants at addresses in the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Goiás, Maranhão and Santa Catarina.

“The investigation began in the city of Dourados (MS) in August 2021, with two of the investigated persons being charged in the act, as they were moving towards the border with Paraguay with an armed escort. US$ 100 thousand, which were hidden and had no legal origin, as they were supported by a canceled invoice”, says the PF.

Victims were lured with promises of profit of 20% per month and up to 300% per year in the cryptocurrency market. After joining the scheme, they were influenced by supposed traders to attract more people to the pyramid, in a mechanism they called “binary”.
