Panel SA: Industry representatives formalize a letter to complain about Josué in the presidency of Fiesp

by

Fiesp received this Friday (21) a document that asks for the scheduling of an assembly to evaluate the management of the entity under the command of Josué Gomes. He will analyze on Monday (24).

The letter, which was endorsed by a group of unions affiliated with Fiesp, is the result of a conversation that has been going on for months at the entity, but which only flourished in the second round of the presidential election amid conversations that Josué would be closer to Lula. , while the former president of the entity, Paulo Skaf, supports Bolsonaro.

It was Skaf who nominated Josué to run for the presidency of Fiesp, last year, but discontent with the new management began to emerge, according to member unions, because there was a lack of dialogue with the head of the house since the first semester.

“A large part of the presidents of unions affiliated to Fiesp do not feel that the current president of the entity is receiving or listening to them”, according to André Sturm, president of Siaesp (Union of the Audiovisual Industry of the State of São Paulo) and director of Fiesp, who also signed the document. .

In addition to the issue of access to Joshua, the imbroglio carries a political component. Since the end of July, when Fiesp released its guidelines for presidential candidates in a document that cited democracy and respect for the rule of law as essential conditions for Brazil, pressure against Josué began to circulate within the entity because the mention of democracy could provoke Bolsonaro, harming Fiesp’s relationship with the government.

There is an assessment in the industry that the figure of Josué was associated with Lula and that, in the event of Bolsonaro’s victory in the presidency and of Tarcísio de Freitas in the government of São Paulo, Fiesp, under his command, would be weakened.

Last week, Skaf, who had been keeping silent in the first round, released a video asking for a vote for Bolsonaro. This week, the figure of the former president of Fiesp reappeared in the news as the person supposedly responsible for articulating the movement against Josué at Fiesp to reassume a leading role in the industry, which he denies.

According to union leaders involved in the debate, the decision to bring forward the sending of the document with the request for an assembly at Fiesp to this Friday was an attempt to depoliticize the matter and focus on the discontent with the management. As the next board meeting will only take place on the post-election Monday, the political context would be very marked and contaminated by the results of the polls, according to the assessment of sectoral representatives.
