Podcast: Lula government’s plans and obstacles in the economy

by

The transition team of the president-elect, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), has already started to articulate with Congress the approval of a PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) that allows the new administration to fulfill campaign promises such as maintaining the Aid Brasil in R$ 600 and give a real increase in the minimum wage.

The breach in the government’s accounts caused by the measures taken by the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) administration during the election will be an economic challenge for Lula’s third term. In 2023, the president-elect will still have to deal with tax cuts that lowered fuel prices and with a forecast of low growth in the country.

This Monday’s episode (7) of Café da Manhã discusses the plans of the third Lula government for the economy and the impacts of measures by the Bolsonaro government. The podcast talks with the editor of Mercado da SheetAna Estela de Sousa Pinto.
