Panel SA: Toy store launches Truck Patriot doll

by

The toy store Corbe Toys launched for pre-sale, this weekend, the doll Patriota do Caminhão, which satirizes the Bolsonarista protester who went viral on the internet after clinging to the front of a truck.

“When they break the blockade of truck drivers, I’ll be there with my national team shirt and cheering for Brazil, I’m a Patriot with great pride and love, sometimes I even ask for military intervention! your truck and you will take me for kilometers”, says the description of the toy, which sells for R$ 80.00.

According to the store’s owner, Luís Aizcorbe, the character sold out of its first batch, which contained 1,000 units. Shipping is scheduled for December 15th.

Even with a good first weekend, Aizcorbe still doesn’t know if the character should catch up with other dolls in the store, such as Faria Limer and Pai Ausente, who have sold 3,500 units and 5,000 units, respectively, since their release date.

“In the case of Faria Limer, there are many people from the left and right who play with it”, he says. The Truck Patriot would appeal to more consumers who identify with the left, according to Aizcorbe.

Aizcorbe says he won’t have to pay for using the protester’s image. “Get into the allegory part. It’s like the myth of the saci pererê. We don’t need to ask for copyright for it, because we’re not using the name and it doesn’t affect the person’s integrity”, he says.
