Iranian journalists in London received threats from the Revolutionary Guards

Iran International TV has been covering the protests rocking Iran since the death of Mahsha Amini on September 16.

Two journalists from Iran International — a television network based in London aimed at Iranians — received threats against their lives from the Tehranas the group to which the channel belongs complained today.

“Iranian-British journalists working in the UK have received threats against their lives from Guards of the Revolution“, says the announcement of Volant Media. It notes that London police “officially informed the two journalists that the threats constitute an immediate, credible and significant risk to their lives and families.” According to Volant Media, “other Iran International journalists were also informed of the specific threats.”

The Iran International television network has extensively covered the protests that have rocked Iran since her death Mahsa Amini on September 16. The 22-year-old Kurdish woman died three days after she was arrested by morality police in Tehran for violating a strict dress code requiring women to wear headscarves.

About 200 people have died in the violent crackdown on the protests, the largest in Iran in three years, according to the Oslo-based NGO Iran Human Rights.
