Lula’s (PT) transition team has already started collecting data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security to make a diagnosis of the situation. The most worrisome data is that there are currently 5 million processes under analysis at the INSS that have already exceeded the 45-day period for them to be resolved.
The numbers obtained are from September of this year.
In addition to the injustice of forcing a citizen to wait longer than is reasonable for a response from the agency, the delay generates interest for the State, which will have to disburse more money when the benefit finally begins to be paid.
“The queues at the doors of INSS agencies no longer exist. But today they are virtual, and kilometers long”, says lawyer Fabiano Silva dos Santos, one of the coordinators of the Social Security transition group.
One of the ideas under discussion is to transfer Dataprev to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security once again.
The Technology and Information Company, which is responsible for managing the country’s social database, especially the INSS, was transferred by Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to the Ministry of Economy. And it was even included in the privatization program – which must now be discussed again.
In evaluating the transition, there was a distortion of the company’s essential function, which today suffers from a lack of technical staff and was unable, for example, to parameterize its system in accordance with the new retirement rules that were approved in the country.
During the election campaign, Lula stated that he would recreate the Ministry of Social Security – the portfolio is now linked to the area of work.
