With the increase in demand for parcel delivery services, typical of the end of the year, the number of complaints against the Post Office for delays and other problems in the delivery of items purchased for Christmas also rises.
On the ReclameAqui platform, most users talk about items held in distribution centers or post offices, retention of international orders and inconsistency in the information received about the purchase.
But other unusual and more serious problems are also on the list of complaints. A user from Salvador (BA) claims that the Post Office delivered an order to an address different from the addressee, to an unknown person. “That person delivered it to another person, who handed me the order, which was violated and with three stolen items”, says the report.
Another report, this time from Florianópolis (SC), reveals that the order arrived at the Correios Distribution Center in the capital of Santa Catarina on December 7th, and until this Saturday, the 24th, the delivery had not yet been made.
Many of the reports speak of problems with international orders, which are often held up by the Post Office. As it is an international purchase, getting a refund for the product not received is also quite difficult, according to users.
At ReclameAqui, reports are public for those who access the platform, but the identity of users is kept confidential.
The reputation score of Correios on ReclameAqui in the last 12 months is 5.6 out of 10, with a reputation considered bad, according to the platform’s parameters. There were almost 60,000 complaint records in the period. Overall, with a history since December 2019, there are almost 220,000 complaints, and a reputation score of 5.
In a note, the Post Office states that operations occur normally. “We emphasize that the company is working with operational reinforcement, precisely to absorb the increase in the flow of orders and guarantee the quality of deliveries in this period of the year”, says the company.
