In the week of Pelé’s death, searches for the period in which the player was Minister of Sport skyrocketed, according to data collected on Google Trends.
Yesterday the term “Pelé Minister of Sport” appeared among searches related to the name of the footballer with the highest rise on Google. The growth was 200%, according to the platform.
Pelé was head of the portfolio from 1995 to 1998, under former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
The research related to the greatest growth was that of Roberto Dinamite, a former top scorer for Vasco, who posted a tribute to Pelé on his social networks. The search for Dynamite grew by 850%, according to Google Trends.
