The owner of the Havan chain, Luciano Hang, one of Bolsonaro’s biggest supporters in the business community, condemned the coup acts this Sunday in Brasilia.
“Democracy does not combine with acts of vandalism, but with dialogue, never with violence. We need to respect laws and institutions. Demonstrations are legitimate when they occur peacefully. It is regrettable to see public assets being plundered in this way,” he said in a note.
Hang’s speech is in line with the position of other businessmen and representatives of the private sector, who expressed their concerns this Sunday about the impact of invasions by Bolsonaristas in the country’s capital.
On Friday (6), Hang also released a statement in which he distances himself from the scammers.
He said that he wishes the new government “to have a great administration” and that he “roots for the pilot”.
