Planning Minister Simone Tebet (MDB) said this Tuesday (10th) that she will nominate women to head two of the portfolio’s four secretariats and that she should make the announcement by the end of this week.
“[Serão] two men and two women. At least I managed to reach the gender quota,” he told journalists during the Senate session that approved the federal intervention decree in the Federal District.
Last week, the minister said that she would like to set up a ministry with diversity, but that it was “difficult” to get black women on the team. Tebet said that most of them support the family and that the portfolio’s salaries are not so attractive.
Asked this Tuesday if she would have black women on the team, the senator said she was “sewing” with the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD), the name of a servant of the House.

Economist and director of the IFI (Independent Fiscal Institution of the Federal Senate), Vilma da Conceição Pinto, was one of the first people to be contacted by Tebet during the assembly of the ministry.
Removed from her mandate in the Senate since assuming the Ministry of Planning, Tebet stated that she decided to attend this Tuesday’s session – the first after the invasion of the headquarters of the Three Powers – as a citizen.
“We are going to make lemonade out of lemons to show that the democratic center, the broad front is with President Lula in strengthening democracy. And we are obviously going to tell this story. This story will not be forgotten, never to be repeated,” he said. .
Tebet lamented the attack by vandals on the painting depicting her father, Ramez Tebet. The painting was in the gallery of former Senate presidents and was one of five attacked by Bolsonarists, along with two by former President José Sarney and two by Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL).
“In my father’s case I’m sorry because I’m sure from his story that he suffered the punishment because of me. I’m sure that was a reference to me. But I’m also sure that he’s very proud that I chose the right side of history,” said Tebet.
