Government wants to speed up changes to Bolsa Família and pay an extra R$ 150 per child in March

The Minister of Social Development, Wellington Dias, said this Wednesday (11) that the federal government will accelerate the re-registration of Bolsa Família to ensure that in March families with children up to six years old can receive the extra R$ 150 per month. child, which will be added to the base of R$ 600 of the program.

“In February, we will already have the conditions to start the entry of people who are outside the Bolsa Família and the release of cards with the payment of R$ 150 based on this registration update”, he said.

According to him, the idea is to make the extra payment in March “for those who are confident in updating their registration”.

The minister’s statement follows the line of speech by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who said that the economic agenda should follow normally after supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) invaded and vandalized the headquarters of the Three Powers in the last Sunday.

Initially, the government had stated that the additional R$150 per child, Lula’s campaign promise, could take up to 90 days to start being paid.

Dias also said that the folder found 10 million people with “signs of irregularities” who should be expelled from the program when the Single Registry of Social Programs is updated.

On January 5, Dias had stated that the review of the Cadastro Único, the database on beneficiaries of the Auxilio Brasil, which the government already calls Bolsa Família, should be completed within three months.

Updating the registration, he highlighted, is essential for releasing the additional benefit of R$ 150. “It is necessary to have a technical signal in order to have security [para esse pagamento]”, said Dias last Thursday (5), during the inauguration of the Minister of Planning and Budget, Simone Tebet.

Now, however, the schedule has been accelerated. “We release a new card in February for payment in March, already updated with R$ 150 for those who have security in updating their registration”.
