Vibra ends partnership with Americanas at gas stations

by

Vibra (former BR Distribuidora) announced this Monday (23) that it will end its partnership with Americanas for convenience stores at gas stations.

The two companies formed the “Vem Conveniência” joint venture in February last year with the aim of establishing Local and BR Mania stores at gas stations. Americanas and Vibra each hold 50% of the share capital of Vem Conveniência.

In a statement to the market, Vibra states that the partnership is being terminated by determination of its board of directors, in view of the recent events involving Americanas, which entered into a court-supervised reorganization process last Thursday (19) with debts of BRL 43 billion.

According to the company, the procedures to end the partnership have already started and Local and BR Mania will return to their original partners. Vem Conveniência should continue with Vibra.

In the statement, Vibra says it understands that the separation is what best achieves the business objectives at the moment.

“The company emphasizes the importance of convenience in its business and reaffirms its commitment to its franchisees and its reseller network to continue working to bring the best solutions for this business”, says Vibra.
