Consultation of the PIS and Pasep 2023 allowance starts this Sunday; see how to do

The government releases the consultation of the 2023 PIS and Pasep salary bonus this Sunday (5), in the Digital Work Card application and on the gov.br portal. The worker will need to update the Digital Work Card application. When the consultation is released, you will need to access the application, with your personal data and the registered password and enter the “Benefits” and “Salary Allowance” tab. The system will show the amount of the allowance, the payment date and the receiving bank.

The monthly allowance release batches begin on February 15th and continue until July 17th. PIS is paid at Caixa, for those who worked in private companies in 2021 and fit the program rules. Pasep, on the other hand, is released by Banco do Brasil for workers of public companies, such as servants and employees of state-owned companies, in addition to military personnel. The deadline to withdraw the amount ends on December 28, 2023.

The allowance now released is for the year 2021. According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, allowances will be paid to 22.9 million workers entitled to receive the benefit, of which 20.4 million are entitled to PIS and another 2.5 million entitled to Pasep, totaling around R$ 22 billion.

The allowance is up to R$1,302 and its amount varies depending on the number of months worked during the 2021 base year. The amount of the allowance is calculated considering 1/12 of the minimum wage multiplied by the number of months worked in the corresponding year. If the beneficiary worked throughout the reference year, he will receive a minimum wage. If you worked two months in 2021, you will receive R$ 217.

The reference year for this allowance is 2021. The worker needs:

• Be registered in the PIS/Pasep program or in the Cnis (date of first job) for at least five years;
• Have worked for employers that contribute to PIS or Pasep;
• Have formally worked at least 30 days in the base year of 2021;
• Having received an average monthly remuneration of up to two minimum wages in 2021;
• The employer must have correctly informed the employee’s data in the Rais (Annual Social Information List) for the base year

How will the bank be paid?

• Those who have a checking or savings account at Caixa will receive the credit automatically in their bank account, according to the payment schedule.
• According to Caixa, the other beneficiaries will receive the amounts through digital social savings, also according to the month of birth. The money deposited in the digital savings can be moved through the Caixa Tem app, which allows you to pay bills, use the QR Code in the machines and make purchases with the virtual debit card.
• If it is not possible to open a digital account, withdrawals can be made using the Social Card and password at self-service terminals, lottery shops, Caixa Aqui correspondents or at Caixa branches.

• Banco do Brasil customers who are entitled will receive it directly in their checking or savings account at BB, on the payment start date established in the calendar. Payment will also be made via transfer via TED or in person at the bank’s service agencies.
