The authorities have arrested an 18-year-old accused of being a member of a group that attacked and injured two 17-year-olds in Neo Heraklion

An 18-year-old foreigner was arrested yesterday afternoon as part of the spontaneous procedure, for dangerous bodily harm and violation of the weapons law.

The arrest was made by police officers of the North-Eastern Attica Security sub-directorate.

According to ELAS, on Wednesday, two 17-year-olds met with a group of about 8 people in an underground passage near ISAP Heraklion to resolve their personal differences.

Then, according to ERT, the group attacked the 17-year-old with punches, kicks and a sharp object, injuring his back and legs, while his friend suffered minor injuries.

Passers-by who noticed the fight intervened to separate them and then the two 17-year-olds were able to escape by entering a cafe.

There, the 17-year-old found that he had injuries to his legs and back and was bleeding.

So, he went with his friend to the hospital.

Doctors stitched up his legs and back, finding that the blow to the back had also injured his lung, which needed to be monitored.

He remained hospitalized in the Thoracic Surgery Clinic of the Central Hospital.

From the investigation, an 18-year-old was identified for the attack and was positively identified by the two 17-year-olds as the person who started the fight.

The victims were unable to testify as to which of the perpetrators carried the knife.

In the context of a pre-investigative investigation and after the use of computer data and evidence, the 18-year-old foreigner who participated in the group was identified and arrested in the area of ​​Heraklion, Attica.

The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecutor, while investigations into the identification and the rest of those involved continue.
