An engineering piece of equipment fell from a building on Avenida Faria Lima, the financial center of the capital of São Paulo, this Monday afternoon (6), causing astonishment among pedestrians circulating in the region and professionals in the surrounding offices.
The work, in progress in building number 3,527, is under the responsibility of the construction company Racional. The company does not confirm the dimensions of the equipment, denies that it is a crane and claims that it is a machine called a spider, used to install glass. According to the company, the reason for the fall is still unknown and the causes of the accident are under internal investigation.
“Racional Engenharia informs that on the afternoon of Monday, February 6th, there was an accident at a construction site located on Avenida Faria Lima. Equipment used on the construction site came loose and fell on the avenue, without involving victims or any damage. company reaffirms that it adopts and demands compliance with all safety standards in its works and is rigorously investigating the reasons for what happened,” said Racional in a note.
