The IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) announced this Thursday (30) the extension of registrations for the competition of 206,891 temporary job vacancies in the 2022 Demographic Census.
Initially, the deadline for those interested in the candidacy was extended until Wednesday (29). With the extension announced this Thursday, applications will be accepted until January 21st.
The competition foresees 183,021 vacancies for enumerator, 18,420 for ACS (supervisor census agent) and 5,450 for ACM (municipal census agent).
FGV (Fundação Getulio Vargas) is the organizer of the selection. Entries can be made on the contest website.
The payment fee is R$57.50 for the census taker and R$60.50 for the census agent. The amounts can be paid until February 16th.
With the new calendar, the date of the exams was also changed: from March 27th to April 10th.
Candidates can compete in both selection processes, as the tests take place in different shifts, says the IBGE. The census takers’ exams are scheduled for the morning. The tests of the census agents are scheduled for the afternoon shift.
According to the coordinator of Human Resources at IBGE, Bruno Malheiros, the extension of deadlines is normal and expected in selective processes of this size.
“There is the addition of being a process that was opened during a period of end-of-year festivities, with the population traveling. University students are a public that is interested in the work of enumerator, and they are on vacation right now. Furthermore, many people are employed with temporary contracts that expire now at the end of December, and will start looking for new opportunities,” he says.
In the case of census taker vacancies, candidates must have completed elementary education. These professionals will act directly in the collection of Census information from more than 70 million households.
The census taker’s salaries vary according to production. It is possible to simulate the remuneration in the IBGE Census website.
The vacancies of ACS (supervisor census agent) and ACM (municipal census agent) are of medium level. Salaries are R$1,700 and R$2,100, respectively.
The ACM manages the work of the Census information collection posts. Meanwhile, the ACS, subordinate to the ACM, has as its main function to guide the enumerators during the execution of field work.
The IBGE states that, as census agent vacancies will have a single registration, ACM positions will be offered to candidates with the best classification in the contest. The others will be entitled to the positions of ACS, following the order of performance in the selection.
The Demographic Census takes place every ten years. The new edition was scheduled for 2020, but was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In 2021, the lack of budget funds on the part of the federal government prevented the population counting from being carried out.
The values ​​for the survey in 2022 were released after the STF (Supreme Federal Court) is triggered.
