What SYRIZA proposes in the program it reaches 83 billion euros, the Minister of Finance pointed out, speaking to SKAI 100.3 Christos Staikouras, underlining that the ND has made public the costing of each measure, and in a four-year horizon they reach 9 billion euros.

Mr. Staikouras added that cash available at the moment is at the level it was four years ago.

He also emphasized that the Greek debt has decreased by 50 percentage points.

Commenting on the proposals of Mr. Tsakalotos and other SYRIZA executives regarding local currencies, he stated that “after Varoufakis’s Dimitras, we also moved on to local currencies, both proposals they are extremely dangerous.”

The Minister of Finance reiterated the government’s commitment that as long as fiscal space exists or is created, it will return to society. However, where the resources will be directed, will be determined by the prime minister, he clarified.

Mr. Staikouras estimated that we will achieve higher fiscal goals, which will result from the better course of the economy.

“We’ll be close in society for as long as necessary, in terms of realism, within the framework of the budgetary possibilities” assured the minister.
