Caixa deposited this Thursday (13) from BRL 600 to BRL 3,000 in extra amounts of emergency aid for each of the 823,400 single parents or heads of families who raise children alone (without a spouse, partner or partner). ) and who received payments from the program in 2020.
The payments were made after Congress expanded the public entitled to double quotas of emergency aid. Only the female breadwinner of a single parent family could receive such amounts, but Congress changed the legislation and started to provide the benefit to the “person” in these conditions (regardless of sex).
President Jair Bolsonaro even applied a veto to the measure, which was overturned in June by parliamentarians. At the time, the government justified the contrary position by saying that no estimates had been made of the fiscal impact and that there was no data to verify the effective custody of the children – which could give rise to fraud.
The payments total R$ 4.1 billion and are financed by the National Treasury, after issuing extraordinary credit through an MP (provisional measure) published in December 2021.
The new amounts were automatically credited to those who had already received emergency aid in 2020 (there is no way to make new registrations). The equivalent of R$ 600 will be paid in a single installment for each month received by the beneficiary in that year – up to a maximum of R$ 3,000.
The credit was made in the Caixa Tem application and the benefit consultation can be done through the website https://consultaauxilio.cidadania.gov.br/.
Another benefit to be deposited by Caixa this month is AuxÃlio Gás, whose payments will be made in conjunction with AuxÃlio Brasil (new Bolsa FamÃlia) from January 18 to 31.
The measure was created after a bill authored by PT parliamentarians passed in Congress. About 5.5 million families are eligible for the program and the cost calculated by the government is R$1.9 billion in 2022.
Families will receive, every two months, an amount corresponding to a portion of at least 50% of the average national reference price for the 13 kg cylinder. Prices will be those raised by the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) in the previous six months.
Families in the municipalities affected by the rains already received the values in December, according to Caixa.
AuxÃlio Brasil will be paid as of this month to 3 million new families, totaling 17.5 million homes. It is not necessary to go to agencies to register, according to Caixa.
“It is not necessary to go to agencies to register, it has already been carried out in the same way as in the emergency aid back there. Validation of people has already been carried out”, said Pedro Guimarães, president of Caixa.
As shown by leaf, the government itself has estimates that point out that the AuxÃlio Brasil audience is greater than 17.5 million families and that it may be at least 21.6 million. But, thanks to the government’s articulation in Congress, the program is not obliged to automatically serve all those who are entitled – which, in practice, creates a waiting list that depends on the existence of resources to be allocated.
