In total, 866,449 people were registered as unemployed in the DYPA register in June 2023, based on the data made public today.
A decrease of 55,198 people, i.e. a rate of 6%, was recorded in unemployment in June this year compared to the corresponding month last year. At the same time, there is an increase of 12,268 people and a rate of 1.4%, compared to the month of May 2023.
In total, 866,449 people were registered as unemployed in the DYPA register in June 2023, based on the data made public today.
Of all those registered in the DYPA register for the month of June, 493,463 people (percentage 57.0%) are registered for a period equal to or longer than 12 months and 372,986 (percentage 43.0%) are registered for a period less than 12 months.
Men amount to 285,532 people (percentage of 33.0%) and women amount to 580,917 persons (percentage of 67.0%).
The 30-44 age group gathers the largest number of registrants among the age groups, amounting to 289,304 people (33.4%).
In terms of education, secondary education gathers the largest number of enrollees, with 394,245 people (45.5%).
Among the regions of the country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia record the largest number of registered people, which amounts to 310,301 people (percentage of 35.8%) and 173,982 people (percentage of 20.1%), respectively.
The total number of subsidized unemployed people (refers to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month) amounts to 108,298 people, recording an increase of 3,332 people (3.2%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, June 2022, and a decrease of 9,299 people (-7.9%) compared to the previous month of May 2023.
Of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 96,844 (89.4%) are general unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed, and 11,454 (10.6%) are seasonal tourist occupations. Men amount to 47,766 (percentage of 44.1%) and women to 60,532 (percentage of 55.9%).
Also, of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 91,561 (84.5% rate) are general, 2,383 (2.2% rate) are builders, 11,454 (10.6% rate) are seasonal tourist occupations, 1,563 (1.4% rate) are seasonal other (agricultural), 1,265 (1.2% rate %) are teachers, and 72 (percentage 0.1%) are others.
