Very generous discounts took Amazon to the most talked about topics on Twitter this Wednesday morning (26). Since dawn, coupon codes began to circulate on the social network and promotion channels and spread among users.
Common in the ecommerce marketing strategy, coupons —offered on festive days or by celebrities who have partnered with the brand, for example— were cumulative: it was possible to add several of them and have unusual discounts.
The highest value confirmed by the report was R$435 in books —29 coupons of R$15. There were even reports of products purchased for free.
Asked if purchases made with the coupons will be cancelled, the company did not respond, but said there was a problem with the site. “We regret any inconvenience caused and will contact the impacted customers,” the company said in a statement.
Many of the codes were specific to new users, which caused customers to rush to sign up. None of the coupons tested by the report were still valid this morning, and consumers are in doubt about a possible cancellation of purchases.
The report managed to confirm the purchase of a product acquired with the coupons that, according to the brand’s service channel, would not be cancelled.
